A Sweet Trio of Colorado, Amendment 64 & CBD OIL

With the approval and legalization of Amendment 64 in 2012, today Colorado is a marijuana heaven where an adult over 21 years of age can legally possess 1 ounce (28 grams) of marijuana. Amendment 64 also allows the possession of THC up to 1 ounce, thanks to the way it is worded. This means, in addition to marijuana bud, now residents and visitors here can also enjoy widely available marijuana related products such as edibles, concentrates, terps, etc. Even cannabis seeds can be purchased here easily.

Purchasing Limit & Consumption of Marijuana in Colorado

The rules of Amendment 64 have changed drastically in recent years which allow more freedom as well as certain restrictions for marijuana users. Although there is no change in the amount of marijuana a Colorado resident can carry here, the restriction of 7 gram or less marijuana possession for tourists has revised to 28 grams, which is same applied for Colorado residents.

As per “Marijuana Equivalency” guidelines here, buyers for recreational purposes can purchase 1 oz of marijuana flower or 8 gm concentrate (wax, shatter, etc.) or 800 mg of edibles in a single day. You can mix your purchases, but surely gonna get you confused. As for store hours, the state allows marijuana stores to operate from 8 in morning to midnight, but cities are allowed to set their own store hour rules.

The Amendment 64 doesn’t permit the public consumption of marijuana. But, it is legal to buy Cannabis oil online/offline and use at private' cannabis club to enjoy smoking. Even if you can’t find one, you can still consume marijuana in a less public place avoiding attraction, because the attitude towards cannabis in Colorado is little different than other US states.

The Status of Medical Marijuana in Colorado

Since 2001, medical marijuana is legal in Colorado and patients can legally consume, cultivate or possess marijuana under state law. The medical marijuana law in Colorado allows possessing up to 6 cannabis plants in an enclosed and locked space and 2 oz of usable marijuana which is double to recreational purposes. But, a proper medical documentation is must to keep by your side to avoid legal circumstances.

The state-approved “Jack’s Law” allows minors under a parental consent the legal access to medical marijuana. This approves the use of medical marijuana for minors in conditions including cancer, chronic pain, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, HIV, PTSD, glaucoma, nausea, and cachexia. For use of medical marijuana in other medical conditions, users need an approval by the Colorado Board of Health.

Where CBD Fits in Here?

Due to the prohibition of The Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) in Colorado, the sale and use of concentrates that have a much higher level of THC is still limited here. Unless you are good at understanding the math of ‘Marijuana Equivalency’ guidelines, you might get in legal trouble. However, CBD hemp edibles, CBD terps, and all hemp based products are all legal to import, sell and use as a dietary supplement under FDA rules. As CBD has a zero THC level and psychoactive side effects, it can be used publically and even by minors (with parental guidance) without any restriction.

The best thing about hemp CBD is, it has none of the marijuana’s side effects but delivers all the great health benefits to its users. Unlike marijuana which still has legal bounds on it, all CBD infused products including cannabis oil can be purchased online easily. Even the availability of wide variety of CBD infused products makes it a great choice for users who just don’t want to smoke marijuana.
